Question??

This morning Bo was getting ready for work and I was laying in bed (I know, I'm lazy shh) and he came in and said:
"Kayla, I was ironing my shirt and I burned my neck! It burns so bad!"
What?????
Yeah, pretty sure he was in a hurry and he already had his shirt on and of course didn't want to take it off to iron it so he ironed it while it was on his body and went a little too high with the iron and sure enough burned his neck.
I didn't give it much thought this morning cause our room was dark and I just blew it off, kind of giggled and told him he was a dork. But when I met him for lunch on his break this is what I saw:
I couldn't stop laughing! It's pretty much the first thing my eyes went to when I saw him. This picture doesn't really do justice cause I took it on my crappy phone but it looks pretty painful. I don't think he really has any shirts that will cover it either because of the location. hahhahaha!
So, Bo wanted me to ask a question to all of you. He even told me to blog this incident ;) The question is: How many of your husbands/boyfriends have ever ironed their shirts while their shirt is on their body? He said I have to tell you all to ask them, you may not even know lol!
He told me that most girl's husbands/boyfriends have most likely done it some time or other haha! A co-worker of his said he burned his arm doing the same thing. Kooky!

Eventful weekend!

This weekend was.... AMAZING!

Bo and I had a great weekend! It all started off going to Lagoon with his family and ended with going to a Real soccer game!

Wicked! Bo's 1st time!

Bo had never been on the Skycoaster so we HAD to go! He said it wasn't worth the money but I'm glad we did it :)

We went to this show at Lagoon and it was soooo good! There were people that did crazy tricks just like these ones! Not sure how the girl didn't break her back and don't know how the guy didn't break his neck!

Bo and his dad of course had to get the roasted corn at Lagoon. I ate way too much to even try the corn. Maybe next time!

We have been DYING to get TOMS and we finally got some on Saturday thanks to Bo's parents! We love love them! They are super comfy and sooo cute! There are way too many to choose from and we about drove the girl in the store crazy cause we asked her for like 100 different kinds and sizes. We were all so excited, we put them on right away! Oh I love them!

We had some time to kill before we went to the Real game so we all went and saw Salt. Highly recommend it! Good story line, good twists, good ending! Go see it!

At the game we just happened to be sitting by our friends Drew and Chelsea. Crazy crazy!

Blurry pic but best part- FIREWORKS!

Yummmm!

I don't remember who, but someone told me about this Mexican restaurant a couple years ago. I first tried Tarahumara with my parents a while ago. Now it's Bo and my new favorite place to go! It's in Midway so we like to take little road trips there! The food is seriously fabulous. I've never heard one bad thing about it. If you look at reviews on the internet they are all good. They have a salsa bar for your chips and it's overwhelming cause there are so many to choose from! They also have this cheesecake chimichanga for dessert that is soooo very yummy! If you like Mexican food I highly recommend that you try out Tarahumara!

Silverstein & Emery

Last week Bo and I went with his little sisters to the Silverstein/Emery concert. I have been dying to see Emery forever! Both the bands were amazing live! We didn't do much moshing (thank goodness) there were lame straight edge kids there. They were kicking and punching and just going crazy. Kinda ruined the moshing for everyone- but I won't lie- I wasn't too upset, sometimes moshing doesn't sound too fun to me ;)

Emery (love their hawaiian shirts?)

Honey-Lime Chicken Enchilladas

My friend Klin and I found this recipe probably like a year ago. It is a fabulous recipe! Delish!

Honey-Lime Chicken Enchilladas
  • 2-3 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1-2 14 oz Cans Green Enchillada Sauce
  • 2 Cups Cheese
  • 8-10 Flour or Wheat Tortillas
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • 4-5 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 3 Tbls Honey
  • 5 Tbls Lime Juice
  • 1 Tbls Chili Powder
  • 2 Tbls "Hot Shot" (red & black pepper, you can find it with the spices)
  • 2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Pkg Cream Cheese
Instructions:
Mince garlic and onion. Pour a bit of olive oil into skillet. Saute garlic and onion. Whisk lime juice and honey together. Add chili powder. Add mixture to garlic and onion. Also add hot shot and cayenne pepper. Cube chicken. Saute chicken as well with mixture. Pour some enchillada sauce in bottom of 9 x 13 in. pan. Spread about 1/2 Tbls cream cheese onto a tortilla. Place 1/4 Cup chicken on top of cream cheese and 1/4 Cup cheese. Roll up and repeat. After all rolled- mix 1/2 Cup of sour cream with a can of enchillada sauce. Pour on top. Sprinkle with cheese. Cook on 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Side Note:
The first time I made this recipe it was really spicy! I like spicy food but I could barely handle it haha! I don't know how much spice you like but when I made it again I used all the chili powder and only a dash of cayenne pepper and no hot shot and it wasn't spicy at all. I also used a small 8 x 8 in pan since it's only Bo and me and all the ingredients fit, just not as many tortillas and I put a little more chicken in each tortilla. It also made it so I only had to use 1 can of enchillada sauce so 1 can didn't go to waste. Oh and I also added a few extra drops of lime for that extra lime taste! Enjoy!

On Saturday night Bo and I made Coxinhas again, but this time we did it wit friends! It went so much faster and they tasted fabulous! The guys all served in Brazil so I'm sure they enjoyed them very much. My friend also brought beans and rice and Bo always talks about beans and rice whenever Brazilian food gets brought up. They were so yummy! We had a blast catching up and by the end of the night we were stuffed!

Frustrated!

I NEED a JOB!!!

Can I please just tell you how sick I am of job searching? :( I am starting to feel like I set myself up to fail every time I go in for an interview. There is always a stack of resumes sitting on the desk whenever I go into someone's office for an interview. Employers always have to tell me that they got like hundreds of resumes sent to them. I know there are TONS other people looking for jobs. I am done with checking craigslist like 100 times a day, checking all job sites and looking for hiring signs.
Seriously... I'm DONE.
I am very grateful for all Bo and I have been blessed with (which is way more than we could ever ask for) but I don't want to start worrying about money. I want to feel a little less worthless and get out and work haha
That is all for my pity party today. Like I said, I really am grateful, I promise! Just wondering if anyone out there knew of any jobs or any advice on how to find a job and where to look? Thanks ;)

4th of July Weekend

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday! Family, friends, sun, bbqs... all good! We had so much fun this year!

Our weekend started off by going to the lake with my fam for the first time this year. I was never so happy to finally get a tan/sunburn! It was a nice day- not too hot actually!

Bo's family has a tradition where every 4th of July they put on the annual "Tippage Cup." It is so much fun! It's a basketball game sort of like Pig but much more intense. Everyone meets up at Bo's parent's for a bbq and then the Cup gets started. There was a big show up this year! As you can tell by the pics, we get t-shirts. Bo's dad comes up with everyone's names- no one knows what the names mean, not even him. Just something to get a laugh out of :)

1st half of the line up

2nd half of the line up

the winners!

Sunday we just had a relaxing day then we were off to Bo's parent's for another bbq and fireworks! My favorite! Did anyone else think that it did not feel like July this year? It was too cold!

We got lucky enough to stay in Vernal for an extra day so Monday we went to the lovely parade aka longest parade of my life! After, we went to the lake again for a couple hours before we had to head home. While we were there we met a new friend ;)
