Changes/Events from the Weekend

Last week was full of changes- some good, some lame!
BUT, first things first!
So ever since we moved into our apartment Bo has absolutely hated the blinds in our living room cause they are old, yellow and have a few holes in them. I swear since like the first week we've been here we started searching and pricing curtains. Since that wall is so big they always ended up being expensive but guess what! I guess our searching and waiting game paid off! We got to make a change to our living room! We found curtains at K-Mart for $4! Can you believe it?! We were super excited! We have been ironing them for the past couple days here and there and TAH DAH! Here they are:

A few more changes to the week have been:
  • Bo started school- good. Which means less hours at work and more hours studying. Which is lame. But it will sure pay off in the end :)
  • Bo goes to school MWF. This means we only get to eat lunch together on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lame also. We have been pretty spoiled at getting to see each other so much these first few months of our marriage. Since I didn't have a job for so long I got to see Bo every day for his lunch break.
  • I started work! I am learning a lot. Which is good. Some of the people there are rough to work with which is lame.
  • I've never mentioned this before but Bo and I got called to be Ward Missionaries in our ward. We love it! We teach English every week. Most of the people speak Spanish. We are meeting some amazing people and learning so much. We are enjoying each time we go more and more. Which is of course good!
  • Since school started our more of our friends are here in Provo and Orem! This means we get to play with them! Very very good!
I guess the good has definitely outweighed the lame haha! Just the next steps in life right?

The Weekend

Bo's parents came out on Friday! His little sister had a volleyball tournament so that's how we spent part of our Friday night and all day Saturday! She is an awesome player and is very talented! After the games on Friday our good friend and his girlfriend made us fabulous dinner! We had so much fun with them! Thanks guys :D

News/ Weekend

So good news! I GOT A JOB! FINALLY! It's not much, but it's a start and I'm excited for the experience! It is only MWF and every other Saturday in the mornings. It is at a chiropractor office. I am so grateful! I am going to continue looking for jobs incase something else comes my way that can help us a little more financially. I start tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Bo's parents were so great and took us to celebrate at Spoon Me! Yum!

On another note, we are still getting wedding gifts which is fabulous. We got a few doubles of things and decided to take them back this weekend which gave us a little extra money so we could get a new computer desk that we have had our eye on. After Spoon Me, Bo and his dad set it up for us. We love it! Our other desk was rickety and messy. Our new one hides our many cords and makes things much more organized! This morning Bo and I set the old one out on our front lawn with a FREE sign on it and by this afternoon it was gone :D

Crock Pot Stroganoff

One of Bo and my favorite things is Sunday dinner! We made this today and it was fabulous and easy!

Fun & Art

Bo and I started up the good ol' P90X again this week! Tuesdays is Plyo day and pretty sure we both hate it! So instead, we decided to go for a walk. On our walk we came upon a little shop that sells food from different countries and of course we had to go in to see if there was anything from Brazil. Sure enough we found some of Bo's favorite stuff. I'm not exactly a fan of any of it. Guarana is usually fabulous, but Super Guarana is not! I was happy for Bo though that he was able to have some of the things from his mission :)

It was Bo's sister's bday this week so we took her to dinner in SLC. We had so much fun! We love spending time with her and glad she lives so close!

After dinner we saw this store called World Market. Thinking it was another store with food from all over the world we went in hoping to find more Brazilian food but turns out it's nothing like we thought. It was such an awesome store! If anyone has a chance to go, you should go! It has like snack stuff from different countries and some food, but it also has home decor stuff and plate settings, decorations- stuff like that. We found Voss water! Can't really tell in the pic! And we also found this:
They had tons of paintings but we LOVED this one! We still haven't put much on our new painted wall and we thought it would be perfect! And when we hung it up, it was perfect! I love it and I am so excited to finally have a little more of a decoration in our living room so it's not so blah. I can't wait to get more decor!

Babysitting

This weekend Bo and I went to St. George to watch Marli and Dylan cause it was my sister's birthday and she was going on a little get-a-way! We had a blast with them! They are HILARIOUS! Dylan talks so much better than last time we saw him. He calls me 'Taywah' and Bo 'Uncle Bo.' It really is weird hearing Bo be called Uncle! Marli is super smart and knows everything. She kept asking Dylan all weekend if he loved her. One time Dylan told her he only loved her in the kitchen. hahaha! Marli responded by telling him she loved him in every room. They are so fun!
Marli's sleeping attire.

In May when we had all our family in town, one of Noa's baby beanies somehow ended up in De'dy's bag. Well, Dylan found it and he wears it to bed every night and calls it his "night cap." As you can tell it's a little small but it makes for great entertainment :) In this pic he wanted me to take a picture of his belly button- don't exactly know why haha

Bo and I took them to Jumpin' Jacks. It has tons of blow up slides. We had so much fun and got lots of burns on our knees from the slides.

We also took Marli and Dylan to a splash park downtown. They about scared me half to death cause they kept trying to jump off these little waterfalls. Luckily nothing bad happened.

Since it was my sister's birthday I made brownies for her and had the kids decorate half of them. I figured she wouldn't want brownies with thick icing on them ;) They had so much fun decorating them though! It was hilarious to watch them spread the icing and they kept sneaking the sprinkles. I'm surprised there was any left on the brownies!

Great Grandma G

Last week my family got news that my Grandma G was in the hospital. She was my great grandma. Her and my Grandpa G are two of the neatest people I've ever met and were married 75 years! I wish so bad that everyone could see the love they had for each other and the compassion they showed. On Monday, Grandma G passed away just days after her 96th birthday.
My parents and I drove to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to attend the funeral. On our way there we stopped in the small town of Anaconda, MT only to find a ghetto motel with vacancy (hence the pic above). It was an adventure but so good to spend time with my parents. Bo got lucky and got to fly in the next day missing out on the motel and drive ;)
Grandma G

The funeral went really well. It was so nice to be surrounded by family and so good to see my grandpa.

Great Grandpa G and me

My great grandma always handed out jelly beans to all the little kids in her ward who behaved during sacrament. After sacrament all the primary kids would line up and wait for their jelly beans from Grandma G. So we made these little bags of jelly beans in her honor for all who attended the funeral.

My favorite part about going to Coeur d'Alene is going to the boardwalk. It is beautiful. There are so many super nice boats, wave runners and sail boats.
